Last race before the Giro d'Italia
Tour of Romandie is a beautiful race and one of the nicest races on the calendar. I had my mind set on doing a great ride in the prologue and then also trying to do well in a couple of stages.
I got to the race feeling slightly fatigued from the classics and didn't have a great prologue finishing more than 20" down on Gerraint Thomas. The next day I felt tired and just felt slightly stuck to the road all day so ended up riding in with the last group hoping for better sensations as the race went on.
Sadly, I didnt seem to getting any better and with the team we decided it would be better that I go home and freshen up for the "the lap of italy" next month starting the 5 May in Copenhagen. I am really looking forward to starting my first Grand Tour and racing under the colours of GreenEDGE.
